Garden State Equality
Garden State Equality has become New Jersey's only LGBTI-rights advocacy organization with full-time staff. New Jersey lacked such a full-time organization until Garden State Equality 's founding in 2004 - a surprising history given that New Jersey is the 10th most populous state with perhaps the fastest growing LGBTI population in America.

    Out of the Darkness Overnight
Out of the Darkness Overnight, a dusk-to-dawn fundraising walk, benefits the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the leading national nonprofit exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research and education, and to reaching out to people with mood disorders and those affected by suicide. The CDC reports that "...Gay male adolescents are two to three times more likely than their peers to attempt suicide" and researchers agree that those in the LGBTQ community are 2-4 times more likely overall to attempt suicide than non-LGBTQ individuals. Yet, there are no official statistics on completed suicide in the LGBTQ community. In June 2008, the Overnight will take place in New York City and Seattle. Join us as a Walker, Crew Member, or Volunteer. Call 1-888-TheOvernight for more information or to register: www.theovernight.org
